About the Seattle ERIC and VA CSP:
The Seattle ERIC is a research center within the VA Puget Sound Health Care System that works to improve the health and care of Veterans through epidemiologic research. We are part of the VA CSP, a national VA research group of 12 epidemiology and clinical trial research centers. The Seattle ERIC houses the Vietnam-Era Registries and their operations.

 Working with the Vietnam-Era Registries team to manage and support day-to-day operational activities
o Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and study materials
o Develop and maintain tracking and recruitment databases; perform routine quality checks on the databases to ensure high data integrity; maintain and troubleshoot tracking infrastructures
o Assisting with IRB documentation including completing applications, maintaining study documentation, and preparing for audits
o Work with the Lead Project Manager and Registries Principal Investigator to determine priorities and tasks for study staff
o Supervise Vietnam-Era Registry staff member
 Engaging with Registry members and maintaining the infrastructure of the Registries
o Maintaining and updating databases containing individually identifiable information and vital statuses on Registry members
o Corresponding with Registry members via telephone and mail
o Develop and implement effective quality control standards
 Conducting recruitment activities for NIH-funded studies and CSP-initiated projects
o Conducting initial recruitment telephone calls to enroll subjects in research
o Assembling informational and initial recruitment mailing packets to research subjects
o Maintaining and updating study databases, and tracking study progress
o Performing quality checks on data entry and recruitment activities
 Serving as a liaison between the Vietnam-Era Registries and key stakeholders


 BA/BS in a scientific- or health-related field required; Master’s level degree preferred
o If BA/BS, 4-5 years of research-related experience required
o If higher degree, 2-4 years of research-related experience preferred
 Successful management/leadership experience
 Self-starter with demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage complex projects
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with a diverse group of VA and university researchers and staff
 Experience with customer service, particularly by telephone
 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
 Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills
 Excellent time management skills
 Ability to adapt to evolving and competing priorities and timelines
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required; experience with MS Access and REDCap preferred
