Provide benefits and services to Veterans, their families and survivors in a responsive, timely, and compassionate manner in recognition of their service to the Nation.

Duties

The employee will receive close supervision and mentoring and careful review of pending and final work products. The VSR will work claims commensurate with training and demonstrated proficiency. Upon assignment to a team, the incumbent will be expected to perform core duties that are aligned with the team's mission. These duties and responsibilities will be supplemented, as necessary, by duties that are applicable to a particular team or common to all teams.

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience interpreting regulations and applying laws required to explain, evaluate and recommend determinations of eligibility to claimant requests for services and benefits. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves (1) Requesting relevant medical or administrative evidence to make eligibility determinations; (2) Analyzing medical evidence, benefit and/or legal evidence to identify and recognize required actions for claim development; and (3) Experience explaining program benefit entitlements and requirements.
