About the organization
The Internal Controls and Risk Management Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that the USG’s humanitarian assistance and disaster risk reduction programs are effective and efficient. The Internal Controls and Risk Management Specialist supports OFDA’s efforts to strengthen internal controls throughout OFDA’s global operations, implement and fully utilize the Agency’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and tools, and coordinate and track OFDA’s ongoing audits and open recommendations. The Internal Controls and Risk Management Specialist assists in analyzing the effectiveness of existing and newly implemented internal controls, creating and documenting new internal controls, responding to Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) requirements, tracking corrective action plans, and monitoring significant internal control and risk weaknesses.
