U.S. Digital Service Open Application (Rolling)
U.S. Digital Service
About the organization
Millions of people use federal government services every day. Veterans apply for health care. Immigrants apply for naturalization. Too often, outdated tools and complex systems make these interactions cumbersome and frustrating.
To improve these services, USDS hires mission-driven professionals into term-limited ‘tours of civic service.’ By working alongside civil servants, they help untangle complex challenges.
Duties
USDS operates on a tour-of-service model with a maximum term of four years. While most people serve for one or two years, we’ll consider some shorter tours as well. Time commitments are not binding.
Qualifications
To work at USDS, you must be a U.S. citizen, and pass a background check and a drug test. As a federal employee, you will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or receive a legal exemption prior to employment.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, most people at USDS are working remotely from many locations across the country. During normal times, we ask that you make Washington, D.C. or the surrounding area your base during the work week.
Compensation and benefits
Salaries at USDS vary, but don’t exceed $176,300, determined by your experience and skills. We provide health care and other benefits, such as retirement savings accounts.
Application instructions
We are always hiring for a number of different roles, so if you are an expert in your field and are interested in working at USDS, you should apply!
