Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

Advise and provide recommendations to high-level officials regarding travel regulations as they prepare for travel to domestic or international localities with high profile political implications.
Develop and implement operational standards, guidance, and practices that govern domestic and international travel.
Oversee and execute the internal administrative and travel control programs; and manages requests and issuances of official passports and visas required for official travel.
Ensure travel tickets and itineraries issued by the contract travel service office correspond with travel authorized and Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).
Perform studies in order to determine improvements that can be made to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency within travel the GS-9 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

Experience advising employees on procedures for completing travel authorizations, vouchers, expense reimbursements or similar documents; AND
- Experience maintaining clear and concise records regarding travel corresponding with tra

Qualifications

For the GS-9 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

Experience advising employees on procedures for completing travel authorizations, vouchers, expense reimbursements or similar documents; AND
- Experience maintaining clear and concise records regarding travel corresponding with travelers to complete documentation; AND
Providing user assistance on automated travel systems, issuing access and editing documents.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
