Texas A&M University Nonprofit Outreach VISTA

The Center for Nonprofits and Philanthropy (CNP) within the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University

About the organization

The Center for Nonprofits and Philanthropy (CNP) within the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University focuses on supporting nonprofit organizations in both the local area and beyond. CNP seeks to improve the effectiveness of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations through engaged learning, high-quality research, and professional outreach. We do this in several ways, one is using available data to conduct research on the local community and nonprofit organizations that attempt to address their needs. This research is shared with the local community to support the sector. Second, is through establishing relationships with local organizations and their leaders, conducting regular meetings with them and maintaining open communication to understand the opportunities and struggles they are facing. CNP currently focuses on the state of Texas and prioritizes underserved areas, especially Bryan and College Station.
