Teaching Abroad Opportunity - Barwaaqo University for Women and Abaarso School (Somaliland)

Abaarso Network

About the organization

Abaarso School was featured on 60 Minutes and in the New York Times when our students became the first from their country in more than 30 years to matriculate to US universities including Harvard, Yale, MIT, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, and Penn. Our students have thrived in our boarding school environment where teachers provide extracurricular activities like clubs, sports, and advising, while providing an English-immersion experience. While we are an American-accredited school, many team members have been extremely successful despite arriving with no formal teaching experience. Barwaaqo University is the only all-women university in Somaliland. We were featured at the Clinton Global Initiative because more than 95% of our graduates have earned employment in a country with greater than 90% female unemployment. Our students have thrived in our boarding environment where teachers provide extracurricular activities like clubs and sports.
