The mission of Horizon Education Centers is to provide high-quality early childhood education, care, and youth development programs. We are a nonprofit community charitable organization. Horizon is a 501(c) (3), educational organization under 501(a) of the IRS code. All contributions to this organization are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Service Area
Cleveland, Elyria, Grafton, Fairview, Lorain, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, North Ridgeville, Sheffield, Sheffield Lake, Berea and Lakewood are the primary communities served. Horizon Education Centers also serves other cities in Western Cuyahoga County and Lorain County.

Duties

Responsibilities:
• Works with the Lead Teacher to prepare and implement the daily lesson plans and ensures a high level of interaction with children
• Experience with Creative Curriculum preferred. Strong familiarity with lesson planning incorporating all domains of the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards.
• Maintains a clean, safe and emotionally supportive environment that is conducive to learning and is centered on the needs and abilities of the children
• Completes developmental screenings & assessments
• Maintains documentation for services provided, progress reports and attendance
• Works as part of a team with Lead Teacher, center staff and Director
• Builds positive relationships with families
• Participates in staff meetings, conferences, professional development

Qualifications

• Career Pathway Level in OCCRRA is at minimum Level 1
• Willingness to update job knowledge with required ODJFS Licensing Rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities and industry trends
• Demonstrate cross cultural competency while working with Horizon's diverse population.

Salary

$13 to $15 per hour
