Founded over 30 years ago, Macfadden has provided federal agencies with critical on-the-ground support to U.S. government humanitarian missions around the world as well as financial and IT system support. Through program management, human resources services, financial management systems support, information technology solutions, knowledge management, travel coordination and communications support, Macfadden enables effective U.S. government humanitarian response to international disasters. Macfadden’s workforce includes approximately 300 employees primarily located in the Washington, D.C. area.


Job Description
The Staffing Coordinator supports the Africa Response Division (AFD) within USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA), located in USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA). USAID/OFDA is the lead office for managing and providing U.S. Government emergency assistance overseas in response to natural disasters and complex emergencies.

The Staffing Coordinator facilitates division-wide recruitment by supporting the administrative and operational staffing responsibilities of AFD leadership and staff. Day-to-day work assignments and oversight are provided by the AFD Director, Team Leads, and Technical Evaluation Committees, with formal supervisory and evaluation functions performed by a Macfadden contract supervisor. The Staffing Coordinator also supports management of institutional support contractor (ISC) staff under the direction of a Macfadden Unit Manager. The responsibilities of the Staffing Coordinator include:

Staffing Support

Manages and tracks AFD recruitment actions, including drafting memos and scopes of work with guidance and input from AFD leadership;
Coordinates support for recruitment meetings, including scheduling, logistics, and materials;
Proactively follows up with all parties involved in a recruitment, following through on timelines and deadlines;
Drafts and distributes recruitment communications, including notes and action items;

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

BA/BS completion and at least 8 years of post-college, progressively responsible experience, or MA/BS completion and at least 6 years post-college, progressively responsible experience.
Experience managing government staffing and/or project operations, including experience supporting senior- and mid-level managers in a government environment.
Knowledge of USAID or USG rules and regulations related to personal services and institutional services staffing, recruitment, and contracting.
Strong applied knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications is required.

U.S. Citizenship is required; selected candidate must be able to qualify for a government sponsored security clearance.
