Duties

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the External Affairs (EA) team as a Sr Coordinator, Communications for the Media Relations and Editorial Services team. The Sr Coordinator will support and participate in the production of a variety of communications products such as fact sheets, issue briefs, website copy, marketing products, and press materials.

• Coordinates the Refine & Define (R&D) process, which is composed of EA staff who refine and design priority products for external consumption. 
o Proofreads and edits materials and resources to ensure accuracy and consistency with spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting, as adherence to organizational style and writing guides.
o Reviews the work of others within documents and resources produced to ensure content is consistent in message and grammatically correct.
 Support the management of the internal abstract review process.
 Support the refinement and editing of accepted materials to ensure proper branding and style/writing guidelines are met.
• Support updates to EGPAF’s writing and publication guide.
• Generate first drafts of content (press releases, statements, media pitches) as needed by the Media Relations team to disseminate and share.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned including support the management of the EGPAF ambassador program, including the scheduling of ambassador meetings.

Qualifications

To be successful, you will have:
• 2+ years of work experience in communications or publications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail, ability to work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in content creation, editing, or project coordination; experience in content management systems and project management tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Zoom or Teams.

Bonus points if you have:
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field
• Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in content distribution and promotion.
• Familiarity with different content formats such as articles, blog posts, social media content, and web copy.
• Knowledge of content marketing strategies and best practices.
