This position is located in the Department of Compact Operations (DCO) within Africa Programs of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).

This is an opportunity to work in the Africa region, home to the majority of MCC’s program, and to directly support our exciting mission of reducing poverty through economic growth in our Africa partner countries. This special assistant position is an opportunity to directly support MCC’s Africa leadership and our broader team of professionals, both in Washington and abroad. You will have the opportunity to provide administrative support and engage in substantive work that advances the overall goals of the country teams within Africa division. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting the administrative needs of the Deputy Vice President and Managing Directors; developing and managing tracking tools and reporting tools to monitor the progress of our programs; planning events, workshops and team conferences; developing briefing papers, talking points, and data visualization tools; and, reviewing correspondence and other documentation. This position will provide you with exposure to cutting-edge international development work and provide you relevant experiences that could lead to a career in this field. To qualify for pay band 5 you must meet one of the following:
Have at least one year of specialized experience relevant to the position duties and comparable to the MCC Pay Band 5 (GS-7) or an equivalent level which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, this experience is defined as; experience providing administrative support to senior staff; experience reviewing and editing documents and materials prepared by staff for approval; experience developing briefing papers, speeches/remarks, talking points, data visualization tools, and background materials; and experience with MS Word, Excel PowerPoint, MS Project, and web-based management information systems (e.g. SharePoint) to produce documents, reports, etc. This experience MUST be well documented within your resume or application.
