Aligned with USAID’s goals, the Senior MHPSS Advisor will assist in the guidance of a global portfolio that invests in building the capacity of local MHPSS organizations in various countries. As part of this role, the Senior MHPSS Advisor will help build the capacity of MHPSS providers that provide services for victims of torture and trauma, build the capacity of torture treatment organizations, and support systemic change that elevates mental health treatment and healing in USAID presence countries.

Master’s (MA/MS) degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, health sciences, global mental health, or other relevant fields.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in mental health and psychosocial support or other relevant fields.
Ability to implement project management practices and processes including budgeting, managing burn rates, and optimizing cost allocations.
Experience working with, soliciting feedback from, and co-facilitating projects with individuals from the intended beneficiary population.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and experience in social/behavior change communication utilizing an inclusive development lens.
Intermediate to advanced skills in data collection and interpreting research to inform and impact decisions and policymaking.
Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to ad hoc requests for information and to adhere to tight deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and collaboratively, build consensus, and bridge diverse perspectives and interests.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Facility Access Clearance (FAC).
