CHAI's Global HR Operations team is seeking a Senior Manager to lead and support a team of five staff, responsible for HR administration and transactions across the globe, global insurance and benefits, and labor compliance in the United States (US). Successful applicants will be mission-driven, self-motivated and humble, with experience in global HR operations and US labor compliance.

-Oversee a team of direct and indirect reports which manages the execution of day-to-day HR administration and transactions, HR record-keeping, global benefits, US labor compliance and immigration, and other general employee and manager support; including but not limited to:

-Collaborating with CHAI Payroll to implement salary and other payroll changes
-Leading Global HR’s relationship with Global Payroll to ensure timely, complete and accurate processing of biweekly and monthly payroll changes and resolution of complex HR/Payroll issues
-Onboarding and off-boarding, data-entry, benefits enrollments, employment contract management, employment verifications and visa letters, etc.
-Managing the strategic and day-to-day administration of CHAI’s international and US-based benefits packages, and advising on local benefits plans as needed
-Managing US immigration processes and record-keeping, with support from external counsel


-Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, global organization experience preferred
-Strong global HR operations and US labor compliance experience
-Familiarity with international labor law and expatriate and local national employment
-Experience in an NGO setting preferable, especially in an international development organization
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Experience managing a team as well as experience managing staff that work in a managerial capacity; experience with remote management is a plus
-Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees and outside contacts at all levels
-Strong aptitude for developing and maintaining record keeping for compliance and knowledge management
-Ability to exercise sound and timely judgment and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
-Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-High level of attention to detail
-Process and execution orientated in order to manage multiple priorities while accomplishing departmental and organizational goals
-Demonstrated experience with internet-based research and general office automated systems
-Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook Excel, Word) and with HRIS systems highly desired
-Fluency in spoken and written French or Spanish considered a plus
