EnCompass, LLC is seeking a Senior Learning Advisor to provide expertise and innovative approaches to lead a range of learning and evaluation of learning programs for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). We are looking for someone with deep knowledge of adult learning methods, innovative facilitation and training skills, experience in managing projects, and experience in leading a team. The Senior Learning Advisor will provide overall technical, administrative, and financial management direction to large projects that support staff learning on core functions, as well as supervision, management, and leadership. In addition to technical oversight, the candidate will provide leadership and direction to project staff and define and implement activities to achieve the greatest service and impact possible.
The position is based at EnCompass Rockville, Maryland headquarters with the possibility of working remotely on a partial basis. The Senior Learning Advisor will be expected to work from client sites in the Washington, DC metro area as needed. This position is expected to be fully remote through September 30, 2021, due to the pandemic.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience facilitating courses, designing interactive learning experiences and curricula based on experiential, adult-centered learning. Experience with U.S. government preferable.
Experience in field of international development, working in cross-cultural environments
Experience with USAID
Expertise in the critical approaches in learning, including adult learning, learning styles, experiential learning, participatory methods, instructional design, whole systems design, e-learning and related topics
Knowledge of Appreciative Inquiry and ability to apply it in designs, client engagement, and all professional processes preferred
Ability to bring a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion lens to all designs and deliveries
Ability to bring a gender equality and social inclusion lens to all designs and deliveries
Demonstrated technical leadership and operational experience in overseeing professional development, capacity development, e-learning, and training
Experience managing coaching and mentoring programs, preferred
Demonstrated ability of managing complex training projects, Strong planning, organization, critical and strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated experience managing and supervising consultants, staff, and teams
Able to confidently engage with staff at all levels to define needs and expectations, collaborate on projects, and communicate results
