Summer Search Bay Area is hiring a Senior Donor Relations Manager (SDRM) to be based in Oakland or neighboring offices who will manage and grow an existing major gift portfolio of individual donors capable of making five- to six-figure gifts. Seeking someone w/ 4-5years related experience that loves building relationships and creating personalized stewardship plans and is a strong communicator for pipeline management and growth planning. The Senior Donor Relations Manager position calls for someone with a strong track record of building authentic partnerships in a professional setting, inspiring a variety of audiences through a clear, concise articulation of the importance of an organization’s work. Specifically, this hire will bring:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 4-5 years of related work experience, ideally in nonprofit development, fundraising, relationship management or business stewardship, with at least 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in demonstrated success in advancing individual relationships through the cultivation/sales process, ideally toward gift sizes of five figures or greater.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Strong communicator with the ability to inspire a variety of audiences and articulate the importance of an organization’s work in a concise and compelling manner. Demonstrated ability to articulate an organization’s mission with a high degree of respect for constituents served.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Comfort level in a forward-facing role and a track record of building authentic partnerships that demonstrate respect, empathy, and connection. Demonstrated skill in active listening and building rapport with others.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Approaches work in an organized manner to achieve goals and objectives. Adept in balancing competing priorities when managing projects.
ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET: Resourcefulness and a “get it done” attitude, with the ability to drive innovation
