About the organization
The Rice 360° Institute for Global Health offers innovative programs to engage undergraduate students in the design and implementation of new technologies to solve real global health challenges. Through a Global Health Technologies minor, international summer internships, and post-baccalaureate fellowships, these early stage technologies are prototyped, evaluated, refined, deployed and scaled across the world.
Rice 360° has become a leader in global health education, research and implementation, focused on experiential and problem-based learning, and recognized as a model of excellence by Science magazine and the US National Academy of Engineering.
The Rice 360° Global Health Technologies (GLHT) initiative is an innovative educational program that trains undergraduate students from all disciplines to use engineering design to develop and implement appropriate health technologies for resource-poor settings. The GLHT initiative is the undergraduate educational arm of Rice 360°: Institute for Global Health Technologies.
The Director of Education leads the Rice 360° GLHT initiative and is responsible for coordination of the GLHT minor, curriculum development, international undergraduate internships and exchanges, design challenge collaborations, and educational outreach efforts and partnerships within the Texas Medical Center (TMC) and abroad.
Required: Bachelor's Degree, in physics, chemistry, engineering, life sciences, a health related field or another related science degree.
Preferred: Masters degree in public health, global health, life sciences, engineering, or related science or health education field.
7 years experience with implementation, management and assessment of an undergraduate education program, with a focus on project-based learning, engineering, and/or global health.
