The Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) is the office within USAID that is responsible for providing emergency non-food humanitarian assistance in response to international crises and disasters. OFDA is part of the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA) and is organized into six divisions.

The Response Manager for the Venezuela RMT will be responsible for setting the strategy and leading the RMT for OFDA’s relief programs in Venezuela and in other countries, which are impacted by the regional crisis, such as Colombia and Brazil. This position will also include USAID/Washington liaison responsibilities with other agencies, principally the Department of State (DOS), Department of Defense (DOD) and the National Security Council (NSC), regarding USG assistance programs for both countries. As the delegated leader for the RMT, the Response Manager will oversee and be accountable for planning, programming, and operations for the RMT and DART based in Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil. The Response Manager will ensure the development and implementation of strategic decisions, and provide the primary channel of communication between the RMT and the DART. This position will be based in Washington and will report directly to the OFDA Director.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

Bachelor’s degree with significant study in, or pertinent to, the specialized field (including, but not limited to, international relations, economics, food policy or a related field) or country, and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in emergency relief and humanitarian assistance.
Master’s degree with significant study in, or pertinent to, the specialized field (including, but not limited to, international relations, economics, food policy or a related field) or country, and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in emergency relief and humanitarian assistance.
$117,191 - $152,352 equivalent to GS-14 (eligible for locality pay)
