About the organization

The Asian University for Women Support Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)3 nonprofit in Cambridge, MA responsible for international resource mobilization and communications for the Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Opened in 2008, AUW is an international, liberal arts university which seeks to cultivate the region’s next generation of female leaders. With a student body of 1500 hailing from 18 different countries, AUW promotes the ethos of cross-cultural understanding, academic curiosity, and ethical leadership.

The Teaching Fellowship Program brings recent graduates of top U.S. liberal arts institutions to teach English, math, and computer science to students in AUW’s pre-undergraduate programs for 12 months. AUWSF now seeks a Recruitment and Training Coordinator based in the Greater Boston Metropolitan area, who will be responsible for the recruitment of Fellows, as well as traveling to Chittagong to deliver a four-week orientation.

Duties

The Recruitment and Training Coordinator for the AUW Teaching Fellowship Program will:

Conduct in-person and virtual information sessions at U.S. college career fairs throughout the year.

Interview candidates, with the goal of recruiting up to 35 Teaching Fellows.

Create and distribute Teaching Fellowship materials, including brochures and flyers, social media posts, banners, and more.

Serve as the point person for Fellows in communicating relevant information prior to their arrival in Chittagong and answering questions.

Ensure a smooth process for all Fellows in obtaining visas through AUW, identifying appropriate housing through correspondence with AUW housing staff, and knowing the flight plans of each Fellow.

Collaborate with AUW personnel and the appropriate professionals in the region to design a four-week Teaching Fellowship Orientation program, including teacher training, the background of AUW and Bangladesh, logistics of living and working in Chittagong, what to do during the term break, and internships during the winter break.

Travel to AUW with Teaching Fellows to deliver the four-week Orientation and provide the necessary support during their transition.
