About the organization

Since 1985, Citizens Campaign for the Environment has been on the forefront of fighting for the protection of Long Island's air, water and public health. The rapid degradation of coastal habitats, waterways and drinking water across LI is concerning for ourselves and the future generations to come. On a local, statewide and national level, we advocate for the preservation of open space/wildlife habitats, the elimination of toxins from our water supply and the implementation/regulation of cleaner, sustainable practices.

Duties

We are hiring for our grassroots community organizing staff who are the footsoldiers leading us in educating and empowering Long Island Communities through generating petition signatures, donations, and public comments.

Door-to-door grassroots campaigning, organizing, and empowering.
Petition signature collection, public comment generation, and fundraising.
A dedication to social and environmental change.
Creating and maintaining a professional, positive, and productive work environment.

Qualifications

Leadership qualities to contribute to a dynamic work environment
Articulate communication skills
An interest in environmental issues, politics, and/or social justice
A dedication to social and environmental change

Salary

540/week
