About the organization
From babies to seniors, Gulf Coast JFCS serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, culture or gender identity. Our programs span a broad human service spectrum, from behavioral and mental health, child welfare and adoption, family support, job and employment transition, housing, food, transportation or home care assistance for the elderly.
Respond to referrals to the Transition to Independent Living Program (T2IL) Program and contact the individual within 24 hours of receiving the referral. Conduct an initial clinical assessment of youth/young adults for all T2IL youth admitted into the program. Create a supporting treatment plan, which includes specific goals, interventions, and parties responsible for the process to attain goals identified by the youth/young adult. Provide weekly individual and/ group or family counseling based on youth/young adults needs and wants. If consumer requires inpatient hospitalization therapist will assist in making the arrangements for hospitalization. Should consumer refuse hospitalization and consumer is a “danger to self or others” therapist will complete or contact Mobile Crisis Unit to initiate involuntary hospitalization. Therapist will be a part of the interdisciplinary treatment team and will assist in providing and acquiring any needed services. Provide therapeutic sessions to youth and young adults based on their needs and wants. Keep accurate documentation in the form of progress notes and group activity logs for all direct and indirect services provided. Adhere to company’s confidentiality practices at all times. Ensure and safeguard the human and legal rights of youth and young adults at all times. Attend weekly supervision and staff meetings with Program Director on 100% of cases each week. Available to response to crisis when necessary.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Must have a master’s degree in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling from accredited university.
Minimum of two years’ experience providing direct services to adolescents and young adults.
Must participate in a minimum of 40 hours of training per year and obtain relevant skills i.e. enhancement training to demonstrate required program specific knowledge, to include, but not limited to trauma informed care, domestic violence, human trafficking, co-occurring treatment, motivational interviewing, advanced LGBTQ trainings.
