Be a part of America's nutrition assistance safety net. The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is hiring program analyst(s) in the Northeast Regional Office. The full time position that is currently available may start at the GS-9 Level. FNS is a great place to work!
•Analyzes and provides technical assistance and consultation on all aspects of assigned program operations
•Plans, directs, and participates in formal management evaluation reviews of State and local agency program operations.
•Develops written reports of findings and recommendations.
•Makes presentations at state, regional, and national meetings and represents the Regional Office in meetings with State agency officials.
To qualify for the GS09 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have 1 full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS07 level in private and/or federal service. Example of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:
1.Providing oversight and technical assistance to Federal, State or local agencies regarding Federal Nutrition Assistance Programs or other public assistance programs.
2.Interpreting regulations and policies to ensure compliance with program requirements.
3.Providing recommendations for program improvement and negotiating corrective action to bring program operations into compliance.
4.Communicating program findings and recommendations orally and in written reports.
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time in grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
GS09: 1 year of Specialized Experience which is defined as: researching and analyzing information such as laws/regulations that govern Federal Nutrition Asst. Programs or other public asst. programs in order to ensure compliance with program requirements.
OR EDU: Masters or equivalent grad degree or 2 full academic years of progressively higher level grad edu leading to such a degree or LL.B or JD in a related field. It is possible to combine edu with specialized experience.
