About the organization

Konbit Sante Cap-Haitien Health Partnership is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation founded in the state of Maine. Since 2001, we have supported the development of a sustainable health system that meets the needs of the community in and near Cap-Haitien, the second-largest city in Haiti and a sister city to Portland, Maine.


Program Development and Management
• Collaborates with partners, staff, and volunteers to design, implement, monitor and evaluate clinical, community health, and management projects
• Develops work plans and Memoranda of Understanding with partners
• Collects and analyses data related to programs
• Develops and leads quality improvement initiatives as it relates to the programmatic needs
• Develops, leads, and manages assessments of programs and healthcare services in Haiti
• Works with Haitian colleagues to develop accurate descriptions of services and conditions at the healthcare facilities
• Provides supervision of programmatic activities and support as needed

Grant Development and Management
• Researches, identifies, and pursues funding as it relates to programs
• Develops grant proposals related to programs
• Writes and develops implementation plans based on grant and donor requirements
• Manages and submits grant reporting requirements including monitoring deadlines, gathering data, and developing reports
• Works closely with funders, grantors, and program-specific donors
• Maintains communication and relationships with funders, grantors, and program-specific donors

Partner Management
• Works closely with partners on the ground and collaborating partners in the community
• Identifies and pursues opportunities to partner with nonprofit organizations and the Ministry of Health to strengthen overall healthcare programs


Success in this position requires an in-depth understanding of public health programs, as it relates to low- and middle-income countries. Other qualifications include:

• Proven experience of at least 5 years in public health and program management for a nonprofit organization, preferably with some global health or international development experience
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field
• Clinical background desirable

• Ability to reside and work in Haiti
• Ability to work with a high degree of independence and accuracy
• Ability to learn and understand the Haitian political structure as it relates to health systems
• Demonstrates excellent leadership, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
• Demonstrates good organizational and coordination skills
• Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Demonstrates strong healthcare management skills
• Articulates a mission-oriented and social justice philosophy
• Is comfortable working with diverse individuals and organizations
• Flexible about time requirements (i.e., able to attend some evening meetings)
• French or Creole proficiency highly desirable
• Criminal background check
