About the organization
Macfadden is now part of PAE. Founded over 30 years ago, Macfadden has provided federal agencies with critical on-the-ground support to U.S. government humanitarian missions around the world as well as financial and IT system support. Through program management, human resources services, financial management systems support, information technology solutions, knowledge management, travel coordination and communications support, Macfadden enables effective U.S. government humanitarian response to international disasters. Macfadden’s workforce includes approximately 300 employees primarily located in the Washington, D.C. area.
PAE/Macfadden seeks Program Deputy Director candidates for an anticipated global health activity focused on strengthening host capacity to produce high-quality health information, to optimally manage such information, and to promote the use of information for decision making. This global project will be based in Washington DC, with extensive travel. The Deputy Director will be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership of the program and supporting the Program Director with his/her responsibilities. The Program Deputy Director must have the following experience and qualifications:
Minimum of a master’s degree in public health, public administration, public policy, international development, or a related field;
A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an international context;
At least five years in management of international development programming;
Demonstrated experience working with senior level representatives of developing country governments, international organizations, U.S. Government Agencies, other bilateral donors, civil society organizations, and private sector organizations;
Demonstrated management, leadership, decision‐ making, and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated ability to organize and effectively and efficiently navigate the rules and regulations of U.S. Government awards; and
Full professional proficiency in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
