GSA provides workplaces by constructing, managing, and preserving government buildings and by leasing and managing commercial real estate. GSA's acquisition solutions offer private sector professional services, equipment, supplies, and IT to government organizations and the military. GSA also promotes management best practices and efficient government operations through the development of governmentwide policies.

This position is in the Office of Administrative Service, Office of the Executive Secretariat (Exec Sec). Exec Sec provides advisory services and subject matter expertise to all GSA offices regarding high-level executive correspondence, internal policy matters, regulatory compliance, and forms management.

Duties

Assignments will consist of learning the scope and foundation of GSA's administrative and program activities.

Representative assignments include:
--editing documents for style, content, consistency, grammar, and clarity.
--analyzing the issues in the assignment, then selecting and applying accepted analytical techniques such as task analysis, work simplification, work-flow charts, workload measurement and management and organizational practices to determine the most efficient way to organize work;
--using qualitative and quantitative techniques to gather narrative and/or
statistical information to meet deadlines and carry out each phase of assigned work/projects;
--applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature;
--learning to use software used the correspondence, directives, and forms management teams.
--Using the agency's content management platform to keep information on the GSA's internal and public-facing site accurate and up-to date.

Qualifications

--Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
--Editing experience or a bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or Communications is a plus.
--Ability to learn new software
--Skill in building inter-personal relationships
--Knowledge of MS Word and Google Suite
--Interest in government processes and policy

Salary

Begins at $45,627 plus locality pay
