About the organization
All Hands and Hearts effectively and efficiently addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. We communicate directly with local leaders and community members and then deploy our unique model of engaging volunteers to enable direct impact, helping to build safer, more resilient schools, homes and infrastructure.
Through community and volunteer engagement, we focus on helping families recover faster after natural disasters using our Smart Response strategy. In doing so, we strengthen both our volunteers and the communities in which we serve.
A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. The position is full-time. The PR & Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting our PR needs and creating PR campaigns in collaboration with the PR agency. You will use your experience in digital marketing and PR to support us in engaging with potential Influencers and Ambassadors. You will be an integral part of the marketing team and support the marketing department with content development and writing communications for our various efforts.
Education: A bachelor's degree is needed, as well as 3+ years of relevant experience in market research, digital marketing and PR related work.
Related Experience: Experience with professional writing is required. Experience with digital and email marketing is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; strong planning, time management, and organizational skills; attention to detail. Experience with Crisis Communications a bonus Photography skills a bonus but not required.3-5 years experience in Public Relations, Communications and/or Publicity. Be familiar with PR tools such as Muck Rack, TV Eyes, Meltwater and more. Ability to work alone as well as as a part of a collaborative team
Motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude. Experience with social media fundraising tools is desirable but not necessary.
Special Competencies/Certifications: Good written and oral communication skills and confident working with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Applicants need to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. The individual is able to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment/Conditions: Remote based role with regular hours; at times, there may be the need to adjust working hours to accommodate immediate necessary response or changes.
