The Provost Marshal Office aboard MCRD-SD is hiring Civilian Police Officers to fill various positions within the department. They are seeking professional candidates with various law enforcement and/or physical security background and work experience at various GS grade levels. Performs law enforcement duties while interpreting and enforcing the criminal laws of the Unites States, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Navy and Marine Corps regulations, instructions and operating procedures. The incumbent of this position will posses apprehension/detention authority on a military installation and is required to carry a firearm in the performance of duties. The incumbent will perform police officer duties independently or as a team member as necessary in the preservation of peace; the prevention, detection, and preliminary investigation of crimes; the apprehension of violators and provides assistance to citizens in emergency situations during the incumbent's shift/tour of duty. Incumbent will answer general inquiries, investigate violations, support installation police, safety, and security requirements in order to protect life and property. The duties are performed on rotating shifts, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
