Duties

This Open Continuous Announcement allows acceptance of applications through the closing date. The first cut-off date for receipt/referral of applications to be considered will be August 7, 2023; subsequent cut-off dates will be September 1, 2023, October 1, 2023, November 1, 2023 and closing December 1, 2023.

This announcement is being used to develop a non-competitive applicant pool of recently released Peace Corps and AmeriCorps Vista personnel for various positions throughout Health and Human Service (HHS).

HHS is filling various positions including mission critical positions. You may be selected for a competitive service career, or career-conditional appointment.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification Requirements:
Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Additional qualification requirements will be dependent upon the position title, series and grade.

Any individual who previously served satisfactorily as a Peace Corps Volunteer for two years and then was appointed to a Peace Corps Response assignment immediately following his or her two years of service may be certified by their Country Director for NCE. Please note: NCE does not mean that RPCVs are entitled to federal employment. Non-competitive eligibility permits, but does not require, an agency to hire non-competitively an RPCV who meets the minimum qualifications for the position. The decision whether to hire an RPCV under non-competitive eligibility is at the discretion of the hiring agency which provides some federal agencies the flexibility to hire you in an expedited manner. Documenting experience: In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description.

Salary

$28,921 - $152,771 per year
