Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction during lecture, clinical practice, and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline
2. Selects and utilizes a variety of approved course resources and teaching methods that address all learning modalities to insure that the needs of individual students are being met
3. Monitors students closely while they are practicing clinical skills to ensure safety protocols are being met
4. Monitor student attendance contacting students if they miss two or more days consecutively. Contact the Dean of Culture if unable to contact student
5. Ensures Standard Precautions are used consistently by all participants during clinical instruction and practice
6. Assesses student learning using multiple approaches. Reteach as needed
7. Adherence to the PCT Curriculum Pacing Chart that allots specific times for each learning objective
8. Demonstrates program effectiveness with strong outcomes in student retention, success, and attendance, as measured by the Principal
9. Conducts engaging classroom lectures and/or lab based on the course outline
10. Motivates students by demonstrating sensitivity for concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.
11. Provides ongoing communication with students regarding attendance, grades, and other issues that may hinder program completion

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associates Degree or equivalent, some program instructors require further education.
• Prior experience teaching is preferred, as applicable
• Must possess a Certification as a PCT Technician and two years of experience in field, or maintain current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) with two year’s documented experience in the field.
• Two to three years’ experience in adult education and/or with at-risk youth preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to interact with students, parents and staff in a positive and productive manner.
• Ability to effectively educate and manage students from varying backgrounds and socio-economic levels
• Experience in effectively handling conflict.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License. Incumbent must also have reliable means of transportation to travel to various locations outside of the office

50,000-65,000
