Duties

Marlborough School, an independent, college preparatory school in Los Angeles for 530 young women in grades 7-12, seeks a dynamic Health and Wellness instructor to join the Health Education Department for the 2022-23 school year.

The teacher will:
● Teach Health and Wellness classes in conjunction with our Full time Health and Wellness Instructor/Dean of SEL. Topics to be taught include (but not limited to) healthy relationships, alcohol and other drugs, body image, nutrition, mental health, human sexuality, stress management, and other social/emotional elements of health and wellness.
● Meet as requested with the Educational and Counseling Services Team.
● Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the Health Education Department, Division Directors, and/or Deans of SEL.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a Master’s degree in a relevant field, 3-5 years of experience in school settings, and a background in health, wellness, and sexuality teaching/training. Candidates need to serve as a model of openness, generosity, and acceptance. An ideal instructor at Marlborough combines high expectations with a high level of support. Middle school knowledge and/or experience desired.
