The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 5 Chicago, IL is participating in a new hiring initiative to fill a variety of entry level positions, including:
Paralegal will support an office of approximately 80 environmental attorneys by performing a variety of tasks and duties including conducting legal research, preparing exhibits or administrative records, preparing legal documents, cite checking, drafting memoranda, and providing trial or hearing support.
Software Application IT Specialist (Programmer).
Short description for this Position is to create applications, design, develop and implement new software applications in different platforms to meet program needs.
Data Management IT Specialist.
Short description for this Position is to manage, create or update database applications in support of user requirements, using commercially available desktop database management systems, when applicable.
Records Information Management Specialist.
Position is to support expansion of the electronic records program as well as legacy paper records.
Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist
Position is to conduct geospatial analysis, geospatial data development and support non-GIS staff with GIS projects to meet program needs.
Qualifications based on an evaluation of a candidate’s education and qualifying experience.

Starting salary is as follows: GS-7 employee is $47,965.00 per year at Step 1, GS-9 employee is $58,672.00 per year at Step 1, GS-11 employee is $70,987.00 per year at Step 1. GS-12 employee is $85.084 per year at Step 1.
