About the organization

St. Vincent de Paul of New Orleans is a volunteer-driven nonprofit which has worked to support people challenged by poverty in the Greater New Orleans region since 1865 through the provision of emergency financial assistance, case management, and access to education, food, and basic needs.

Duties

Help ensure vulnerable New Orleans residents have access to food and healthcare.

Recruit and manage new volunteers to build capacity at assigned food distribution sites. Conduct targeted community outreach to raise awareness of services offered on-site and strengthen partnerships. Reduce barriers to accessing healthcare services by establishing partnerships with healthcare organizations to bring mobile services and educational experiences to food distribution sites.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED
Comfort with technology: email, Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook
Comfort with public speaking

Salary

bi-weekly living allowance and benefits provided by AmeriCorps VISTA
