About the organization

An exciting opportunity to work within two key areas of School the World’s operations and geographical expansion. Reporting to our Regional Director and Chief of Staff & Operations, assist in the expansion of the Global Citizenship Program within Latin America. Eager to travel? This position would require you to travel within Latin America, almost entirely for the first 6 months to 1 year of employment. Not only would this role play a pivotal part in School the World’s immediate expansion into Northern Panama, but this employee would also help to plan and manage service groups within Guatemala as well. As an employee of a young and entrepreneurial organization preparing for high growth, she/he will act on a wide variety of expansion initiatives and requests in order to make the organization flourish.


Global Citizenship Program
• Willingness to live abroad for the first year of employment, focusing on geographical expansion in Panama (2019) and Dominican Republic (2020);
• Plan and execute on logistical requirements for service group travel with Chief of Staff & Operations and Regional Director, both within Panama and Guatemala as well as any future country expansions;
• Build strong relationships with vendors (lodging, transport, medical, etc.) to ensure efficiency of program travel
• Travel on and be a leader for all service trips in Latin America, sometimes managing groups without Chief of Staff & Operations and/or Regional Director in country;
• Maintaining high level of performance during all group travel and adhering to internal policies to ensure participant safety and proper program execution

• Conduct research and evaluation when needed for overall program expansion and implementation, outside of Global Citizenship Program;
• Maintaining relationships with Ministry of Education, Municipal Officers or other stakeholders, when needed;
• Assist with developing operational local team in areas of expansion;
• Perform a variety of tasks as requested and as necessary to ensure successful expansion of School the World programming and Global Citizenship Program


• 2-3 years relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Legally able to work in U.S. without sponsorship
• Proven project management experience with timeline-driven projects
• Strong organizational, time management & public speaking skills
• International travel experience
• Knowledge of the challenges within international education
• Confidence in leading similar groups abroad
• Spanish fluency required

constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, beneficiaries, municipal officers and all supporters;
• Passion for and commitment to the mission, philosophy, values and education strategy of school the world
• Excellent verbal communication skills as relationship building will be key to growth within new countries
• Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives;
• Real team player and team builder with positive attitude and willingness to roll up his/her sleeves to do what is most needed at any given time or moment to realize the mission and make the organization succeed.
