Montana Campus Compact advances the public purposes of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility. Our organization is one of 35 State Affiliates of Campus Compact, a national coalition of 1,100 college and university presidents--representing over 6 million students--dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education. Our current membership includes Montana's two-year, four-year, public, private, tribal, and community colleges and universities, as well as a network office located in Missoula.

Duties

Management
- Create, develop, and implement systems and procedures for operations
- Liaison with other UM departments and MTCC affiliates
- Ensure compliance with UM and AmeriCorps policies
- Lead and coordinate staff committees and task forces
- Provide training staff on MTCC/UM procedures and protocols
- Manage hiring and termination paperwork

Financial Management
- Manage and oversee all income and expenses
- Manage all programmatic and affiliation and membership processes
- Create and manage systems for invoicing, tracking, and collecting revenues
- Maintain financial and grant records
- Research, negotiate, and contract with vendors/professionals
- Prepare monthly grant spend down plans
- Provide professional support for grant budget development, reconciliation, expenditure-match reporting, funder visits and audits
- Manage and process payroll

Development & Communication
- Co-author grant narratives and create budgets for AmeriCorps funding
- Lead awards and scholarship processes
- Provide professional support for data collection, aggregation, and dissemination
- Manage and coordinate the preparation of Impact Report and other publications
- Update and create content for mtcompact.org
- Lead social media and monthly network communications
- Assist with implementation of innovative strategies and special programs to support the equitable distribution of programming and resources

Qualifications

Required Skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to assist in developing and implementing office procedures and systems
- Experience with office tasks including mailing, filing, and processing routine paperwork
- Must be professional and customer-oriented in communications with partners
- Understanding of grants management, budgeting, accounts receivable and payable
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- High ethical standards to handle confidential criminal background check results
- Computer skills, proficiency with office hardware, and software including: Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, etc.
- Knowledge about Montana culture, higher education, and nonprofit sectors
- Experience with HR and payroll procedures

Minimum Required Experience
BA degree in business, accounting or related area and professional experience as an administrator or office manager or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AmeriCorps or national service programs
- Experience using UM software, including Banner and UMDW
- Experience managing federal grants, especially AmeriCorps
- Background in website maintenance
- Ability to work with diverse cultures, including tribal, aged, rural and high-poverty communities
- Ability to work collaboratively, as both contributor and project leader
- Volunteer or service experience
