Nurse Practitioner (Specialty Clinics) (Flagstaff)

North Country HealthCare

About the organization

North Country HealthCare (NCHC) is transforming healthcare for rural Arizonans. NCHC is an outpatient, federally qualified health center with a teaching and learning mission. We started as a volunteer-run free clinic in 1991 and now serve 12 communities across the entire northern half of Arizona. We turn no one away.

Our integrated care model allows us to serve patients holistically through strong provider-patient, provider-provider, and provider-staff relationships. Simply put, at North Country HealthCare, you can practice medicine the way it should be practiced. We are seeking a pediatric physician (MD or DO) for our Flagstaff clinic. In addition to primary care, the clinic offers mental health services, on-site lab, and access to a 340b pharmacy to provide complete care for your patients.

Duties

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Diagnosing and treating acute (sometimes chronic) conditions of all aged patients, administering vaccinations, and performing follow-up exams. These patients will include those from homeless and student populations, but not exclusively.
Preventive care including educating patients and their parents in disease prevention and health maintenance.
Making referrals and coordinating patient care with staff and other providers.
Preparing of medical records, clinical reports, and correspondences.
Supervising medical professionals (nurses, physician assistants, and medical assistants).
Demonstrating continuous learning and eagerness for professional development.
NCHC is proud to be a teaching health center and physicians can expect to be involved with the teaching of students and residents.

WHAT YOU WON'T BE DOING

Feeling isolated -- an integrated care model reduces physician burn-out because it offers wrap-around services and programs beyond the exam room to care for your patients.
Paying for malpractice insurance or tail coverage -- as an FQHC, physicians are covered by the Federal Tort Claim Act.
Wondering if your job is meaningful -- you will see the positive impact you have on patients and the community regularly.

North Country provides preventative and wellness programs such as Well Woman HealthCheck, Maternal Child Health, Prenatal, Health Start, HIV/AIDS, Northern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault, etc.
