About the organization
Founded in 2008, Nuru International establishes locally-led NGO’s in Sub-Saharan Africa which work to eradicate extreme poverty and unlock economic potential in rural farmer communities. This goal is achieved by transitioning vulnerable smallholder farmers from subsistence to professionalized farming as a business. While Nuru staff technically work for separate and distinct locally-run organizations based in various countries, we all operate under a shared vision to cultivate lasting meaningful choices in the most vulnerable and marginalized communities in the world.
Nuru International has been a fully remote team since 2008 and will continue to be one. All Nuru International staff members work from a location of their choice.

What’s the job?
As the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Senior Associate you will support M&E and impact programming within local Nuru NGOs in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and in future scaling geographies. You will support the advancement and adaption of their existing data-driven decision making strategies. You will bring your knowledge of M&E systems and project management to activities that include research and development, collaboration with academia, and program implementation. A key attribute of the job is building working relationships based on trust and mutual value creation while working remotely. You will work closely with the LAD and Chief Programming Officer (CPO) to achieve the organization’s goals.
What you should have:
Undergraduate degree with coursework in international development, monitoring and evaluation, research methods, statistics, econometrics or related areas with a minimum of 2 years applying your undergraduate skills and knowledge in a professional work setting.
Field experience implementing M&E processes in a developing country (Africa experience a plus).
Understanding and experience in qualitative and quantitative data gathering and how data relates to program design, management and quality; and experience with survey design and digital survey development.
Demonstrated knowledge of USAID’s Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning policies and frameworks.
