Macfadden is now part of PAE. Founded over 30 years ago, Macfadden has provided federal agencies with critical on-the-ground support to U.S. government humanitarian missions around the world as well as financial and IT system support. Through program management, human resources services, financial management systems support, information technology solutions, knowledge management, travel coordination and communications support, Macfadden enables effective U.S. government humanitarian response to international disasters. Macfadden’s workforce includes approximately 300 employees primarily located in the Washington, D.C. area.

Duties

Program Specialists for Disaster Operations support USAID/OFDA’s disaster response, humanitarian assistance, and disaster risk management programs. They assist Disaster Operations Specialists (DOSs) in developing response strategies, in managing all aspects of grants for humanitarian implementing organizations, and in preparing talking points, information products, and briefing material. They assist in the management portfolios consisting of one or several countries, and will support a program team that may include Senior Regional Advisors, Senior Humanitarian Advisors, Program Officers, Field Monitors, Senior Disaster Operation Specialists and Advisors, Team Leaders, Deputy Team Leaders, and /or Program Assistants, depending on the portfolio assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
Experience:

At least 8 years of program support experience
Experience working with USAID or other U.S. Government agencies preferred
Skills:

Strong communication, problem solving and customer services skills required in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with multiple deadlines and competing priorities
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Computer proficiency required to include strong applied knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment

U.S. Citizenship is required; selected candidate must be able to qualify for a government-sponsored security clearance.
