About the organization
MicroCare Community Development Solutions (MicroCare) supports small business growth in the Tucson Community by offering technical and financial assistance to businesses without the capability of accessing standard lines of credit. MicroCare targets minority women in business and extends credit to 12 new businesses a year and extends technical assistance to others. MicroCare has supported a number of businesses since its founding in 2016 including hair braiding businesses, website developers, social media consultants, and tea and spice companies. This position will extend MicroCare’s reach to more business and promote the sharing of technical assistance and financial education by coordinating social media strategies and creating virtual platforms by which more members of the community can access MicroCare’s resources. The position will report to the Executive Director of MicroCare.
Develop an evaluation plan on MicroCare’s financial literacy and development training Identify key outcomes and learning objectives for financial literacy and development with MicroCare staff.
Design qualitative and quantitative evaluation of financial literacy program meant to capture data, outputs, and outcomes of the evaluation. This could include, but is not limited to, surveys, analysis of participant data, pre/post test, focus groups, and in depth interviews.
Document program evaluation process in sustainability binder.
Review current model and implementation proactive for MicroCare’s financial literacy program.
Identify gaps in curriculum to see which objectives are not being met.
Research Credit builder programs to find good fit for MicroCare’s clientele
Re-write curriculum to adhere to identified learning objectives and ensure that curriculum is culturally relevant to clientele
Restructure policy and procedures of loan disbursement to balance compliance requirements with reduction of client administrative burden
Support the lending protocol to learn process and compliance standards
Review and update the lending process with the aim to reduce administrative and paperwork burdens on clients while simultaneously adhering to financial compliance standards.
Document changes and train MicroCare staff
College Degree or equivalent experience required
18 years or older, no upper age limit. All ages are welcome and encouraged to apply
Finance or Business Background and passion for microenterprise/small business programs.
Interest in working with policies surrounding lending
Bilingual a big plus
Able to learn, appreciate, and work with multiple cultures.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Internet-based communications
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting in a consistent, energetic, positive manner
Strong organizational and time management skills
Group facilitation and public speaking skills
Self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision
Effective problem-solving skills
Ability and desire to work with a variety of individuals
Ability to understand "big picture" while completing detail-oriented tasks
Friendly and effective interpersonal skills
Consistent and reliable access to a vehicle required
