About the organization

St. Vincent de Paul of New Orleans is a volunteer-driven nonprofit which has worked to support people challenged by poverty in the Greater New Orleans region since 1865 through the provision of emergency financial assistance, case management, and access to education, food, and basic needs.

Duties

Ensure equitable access to food and healthcare for vulnerable residents in Southeast Louisiana. How you can support our VISTA team:

Enhance VISTA project success by supporting recruitment, selection, and onboarding of twelve highly qualified VISTA members committed to achieving project outcomes to increase access to food and healthcare for Louisianians living in poverty across 10 parishes.

Develop and support orientation and training to equip VISTA members with knowledge and skills related to the project. Enhance VISTA project and member effectiveness by facilitating the VISTA team, supporting team members in their work, and ensuring open communication between VISTAs and project staff.

Qualifications

HS diploma/GED
Comfort with technology: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Social Media
Comfort with public speaking

Recruitment or marketing experience a plus

Salary

bi-weekly living allowance and benefits provided by AmeriCorps VISTA
