Duties

Medicaid and CHIP Services (MCS) Office of Policy is a fast-paced work environment that requires flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to participate as a member of a supportive team. As a VISTA Member working in MCS, you will work with a team to perform advanced consultative and technical work related to the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of Medicaid initiatives, programs, and services, including those serving the aging population. The selected Member will support team members responsible for providing subject matter expertise to agency staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, provider organizations, and the general public. The Member will have many opportunities to coordinate and collaborate with internal and external partners including agency staff, managed care organizations, provider associations, people receiving services, and advisory committee members. The MCS Office of Policy has a long history of working with individuals in arrangements similar to the VISTA program and takes pride in offering professional learning experiences on par with those available to permanent employees. The VISTA member will be supported to learn and grow while being treated with the same respect and held to the same expectations of other Office of Policy team members.

Qualifications

An interest in working in a state government setting and with programs that serve older adults.
