Duties

Regional Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, & Learning Lead (DMEL) Associate: Central and West Africa

Position Summary

This position will work with members of the CEWA team to assist the Regional Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Lead (DMEL) in strengthening the team’s program design, monitoring, and evaluation process and contribute to evidence-based programmatic learning.

Essential Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Support the Regional DMEL Lead on all aspects of program design, monitoring, evaluation, and learning;
Assist DMEL and program staff in finalizing performance indicators and MEL plans and designing as well as operationalizing quantitative and qualitative data collection tools and analysis protocols;
Assist with the development of clear methods and instruments such as surveys, M&E dashboards and data management tools;
Coordinate project and indicator integration into NDI’s institutional databases; assist in designing and customizing indicators, data tables, dashboards and data visualizations; ensure data governance protocols are followed;
Assist DC and field staff in data collection, input & analysis; ensure the timeliness, completeness and quality of data collection and management;
Coordinate and provide guidance to staff in analyzing, visualizing and interpreting indicator data and critical assumptions and risk monitoring;
Contribute to the quality of reports to ensure the incorporation of indicator data.

Qualifications

Fluency in French is required;
Strong interest in monitoring and evaluation, and/or data management;
Math skills and the ability to perform accurate calculations and understand and analyze quantitative and qualitative information.
Perform basic research and analysis skills, using tools such as, survey’s, interviews, focus groups and other research methods to allow for gathering, summarizing and effectively present findings, respond to questions and communicate with diverse groups including audiences without a technical background.
Interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all levels of staff, partners, donor organizations, and other stakeholders;
Oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and through various communication media.
An attention-to-detail, with a propensity to complete work accurately and with a focus on quality.
Initiative and a basic level of proficiency in the ability to multi-task and prioritize; manage time, perform project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills; and flexibility to adapt and respond to shifting priorities.
Capacity to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to apply discretion and maintain confidential information.
Ability to travel internationally, as needed.
