The City University of New York’s Office K-16 Initiatives supports the partnership between CUNY and the New York City Department of Education—the two largest education systems of their kind in the country. CUNY K-16 Initiatives creates innovative pathways for young New Yorkers to envision and achieve success by engaging strategic partners in confronting systemic educational inequities. • Perform on-site and virtual (in-person and online) instructional modeling and consultations to teachers and teacher teams on current and best practices for math content and aligned with Standards for Mathematical Practice.
• Conduct regular high school visits and perform classroom observations of teachers and teacher teams to ensure program effectiveness.
• Analyze school, student, and teacher performance data to identify gaps in student learning and teacher performance.
• Work with the LINCT instructional team to plan and conduct 50 days of intensive, cohort-based professional development institutes/offerings for participating high school teachers.
• Build and facilitate Communities of Practice for LINCT teachers.
• Create and implement strategies to address common areas of concern for LINCT teachers, including revising the LINCT curriculum based on formative assessment data and teacher needs.
• Use formative assessment tools that enable teachers to better understand students’ math mastery and growth.
• Guide teachers in compiling and analyzing data to strengthen their instructional practice in math.
• Participate in creating and facilitating the LINCT Teacher Innovation Fellowship for experienced LINCT teachers.


• Six years of broad teaching or instructional experience (curriculum specialist; instructional leader/coach/support specialist; teacher leader, or administrator).
• An advanced degree in mathematics, education, special education, or a directly related discipline required (may count for up to two years of the required work experience) preferred.
• Experience developing curriculum and differentiating it to meet diverse student needs, including students with disabilities, special needs and English Language Learners.
• Experience in curriculum development strongly preferred.
• Experience with high school or college academic standards (e.g. NYS P-12 Common Core Learning Standards for Mathematics, CUNY Assessment Tests, or other college placement exams, etc.).
• Knowledge of the NY City public school system and NY State education standards a plus.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work and interact effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with a diverse community of students, faculty, staff and external constituents in a large, centralized and public university system.
• Excellent teaching and coaching skills plus strong presentation, group facilitation and writing skills.
• Detail oriented and accurate with sound research, analysis, and data management skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills to create and execute work plans, prioritize work, coordinate multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
