The Kansas City Public Library prioritizes digital inclusion as a strategic initiative and offers a collection of resources to the community under the name Tech Access. Tech Access’s robust volunteer program supports KCPL’s ability to provide a diverse spectrum of digital training and support services to adults in the community. Tech Access is committed to re-training existing Tech Coach volunteers and recruiting new applicants to teach digital literacy classes both virtually to enhance service to the KCMO community for the duration of the pandemic and in-person for the eventual return to the preferred method of providing these teaching sessions.


Tech Access Volunteer Program Developer will work closely with the Tech Access Coordinator and team to revive and redesign the Tech Coach volunteer program, especially in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Activities will include the following: Assemble and create training materials and procedural infrastructure for Tech Coach volunteer recruitment, orientation, and ongoing management; Recruit, onboard, and manage Tech Coach Volunteers; Create and maintain a Tech Coach Volunteer Program Guidebook to ensure the sustainability of processes created as part of VISTA term of service.


Must be 18 year or older, legally able to work in the U.S., and pass a background check


$1000 a month
