We’ve helped our partners reach millions of people with quality, local information that saves lives, improves livelihoods, and holds institutions accountable.


About the Opportunity

Internews is seeking a Media Team Lead for a USAID-funded media support and civil society initiative with the general goal of further strengthening independent media and civil society in Jordan. Under the supervision of the Chief of Party, the Team Leader for Media will provide crucial input into the implementation based on their technical expertise in media and will contribute to the overall achievement of activity deliverables and results.

Note that this position is contingent upon funding. The finalist candidate is subject to USAID approval.


Qualifications We’re Looking for:


A Master’s degree (or higher) and 7 years relevant work experience, or relevant work experience of 10 years in lieu of an advanced degree
Significant demonstrated experience working on core outcome areas of the activity
Have a high comfort level with social media platforms such as: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
Have valid contacts in traditional and alternative media
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with many types of stakeholders, including USAID, officials from various levels of government, media, civil society, and others
Ability to work in Jordan
Demonstrated direct experience working in Jordan
Excellent communication, leadership skills, with a strong sense of initiative
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple on-going assignments
Display a high level of attention to detail while being able to work well under pressure
Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical and achievable plans
Ability to work well with senior management, colleagues and the public
Fluency in written and spoken English is required
Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required


Experience working with remote teams
Demonstrated knowledge of USAID policies
