Jerusalem Farm Program Impact Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA

Kansas Public City Library AmeriCorps VISTA Project

About the organization

Jerusalem Farm is a Catholic intentional community, located in the Historic Northeast neighborhoods of Kansas City Missouri, built on the four cornerstones of prayer, community, service, and simplicity. We strive to transform our lives and the lives of those around us through service retreat experiences, sustainable living, and home repair. Our programs serve six zip codes to provide home repair services including tool lending, help with finding contractors, applying for city programs, and micro-lending. We maintain gardens, orchards, and a curbside compost program in our immediate neighborhood (Pendleton Heights). We currently have 7 adults and 7 children who live and work together at the farm. The Program Impact Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA will pilot a new program to assess the needs and quality of life of the homeowners Jerusalem Farm works with.

The Program Impact Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA will: Systematically reach out to Jerusalem Farm past/present neighborhood contacts list. Begin community needs research/assessment; Strengthen long-term relationships with Jerusalem Farm clients and with community partners. Complete research cycle and finalize essential criteria of evaluation; Comprehensively document community research findings from the pilot program; participate in ongoing professional development.
