Duties

Empowering Global Exchange Through Local Connections

Are you passionate about fostering cross-cultural connections? Join us as a Local Coordinator for our J-1 High School Program! As an Independent Contractor, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating global exchanges by pairing foreign students with volunteer American host families, provide support, and organize enriching cultural activities. While much of your work will be done remotely, you will also engage in face-to-face interactions within the local community when necessary. This dynamic position blends remote support with personal connections to ensure a successful exchange experience for everyone involved.

Responsibilities:

Recruit local families interested in hosting exchange students, fostering cultural understanding and friendship.
Engage proactively in marketing through social media and other platforms.
Guide families through the approval process with care and expertise.
Collaborate closely with local schools to facilitate smooth student placements.
Conduct engaging orientations for host families and student orientations.
Provide attentive monitoring and support to host families and students throughout the school year.
Coordinate volunteer activities to enrich the exchange experience.

Qualifications

Must currently live and have authorization to work in the United States
Must be 26 years of age or older
Must have a drivers license and reliable transportation
Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law and regulations

Please note: On average Local Coordinators work between 5-15 hours per week. This is not an hourly paid job.

This is an Independent Contractor position and compensation payments are based on tasks performed, such as recruiting host families, coordinating orientations, and providing ongoing support to students and families.

PLUS earn exciting travel incentives, including our fall conference this year which is in Lake Garda, Italy.
