At the entry-level grades (GS-07/09) of this position, you will provide support to higher-graded IT Specialists in the area of application software; programming, analysis, and problem resolution; learn and provide maintenance for existing software systems; research application software security information, policies, principles, and practices; assist with IT systems projects and activities in support of the program staff; coordinate activities with program staff in order to meet program needs and maintain compliance with industry and agency standards for software applications; assist in the definition of projects or delivery/task orders in relation to the design, development, and deployment of IT systems.

This IT Specialist role is specifically focused on SharePoint development as a means to providing innovative, effective SharePoint solutions to achieve internal customers' goals and objectives.


You may qualify based on education or relevant experience:

Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. *SharePoint experience preferred*

For GS-07 to GS-12 positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
