The Human Resources (HR) team at NVFS supports employees across the Agency in a multitude of ways including talent acquisition, benefits and wellbeing programming, trainings, and talent development efforts. The NVFS HR team aims to provide the highest levels of customer service and support to all employees. The team strives to inspire a workplace culture that supports NVFS’ organizational values and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. The HR team is committed to supporting employees through a five-dimensional wellbeing approach: professional wellbeing, health (mental and physical) wellbeing, financial wellbeing, work environment wellbeing, and social wellbeing.
The HR Program Specialist performs complex and confidential administrative functions to support the day-to-day operations of the HR team in areas relating to recruitment and onboarding, benefits and employee wellbeing, training and development, policies and compliance, employee relations, and compensation. The HR Program Specialist is primarily responsible for employment records management and retention, data entry, processing and tracking background checks, reporting, assistance with logistics, program preparation and document production, and ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements in all activities and responsibilities. *Please note that in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, work will be done remotely through at least January 2021.*
Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least one (1) year of related work experience in administrative support
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources
Oral and written fluency in English required; bilingual fluency in Spanish a plus but not required. Additional language skills always welcome.
Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools including laptops/computers, email, phones, and internet required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
Must be able to learn and master HRIS; any prior experience working in any HRIS (specifically UltiPro) a plus but not required
Must be able to demonstrate and live the organizational values of Communication, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and Accountability
