Kansas City Public LIbrary AmeriCorps VISTA Project


The AmeriCorps member will help HJ’s Youth and Community Center establish a collaborative community response to aid people experiencing homelessness as well as people at risk of experiencing homelessness in our community. They will connect with local organizations, churches, and businesses to help discern a need and response action plan. Working with and educating community partners to establish a pilot program of services and resources for people experiencing homelessness as well as business and churches interested in aiding the project. Once the program is established the VISTA will help identify necessary next steps for changes and sustainability of the program.


Must be 18 years or older, legally able to work in the United States, and pass a background check


$1000 a month
