This is an opportunity to work on the Affordable Care Act and influence health insurance for millions of Americans.
As a Health Insurance Specialist, GS 9-12, you will work on policy and operations related to qualified health plans (QHPs) in the health insurance Exchanges, essential health benefits (EHB), and health care transparency. You will also work on special projects as needed. Assignments could include project planning and developing milestones and timelines, health policy development and analysis, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, managing contracts as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), and participating in IT builds.
Prior experience in these areas is not a prerequisite. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and eager to learn in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
o Develop and ensure adherence to project plans for major projects.
o Meet with outside stakeholder groups and brief leadership.
o Draft issue papers, presentations, regulations, and guidance. Review and provide written feedback on regulations, bills, and Congressional and consumer correspondence.
o Serve as a COR on a government contract, and/or serve on a technical evaluation panel. Complete COR certification if not already COR-certified.
o Work with team and IT experts on IT builds for programmatic areas.
o Conduct data analysis and policy research and use the results to inform the results to inform decision-making.
