About the organization
Homewood Children's Village is a non-profit organization that services the Homewood Community in Pittsburgh, Pa. Homewood Children's Village is the leading organization for community schools in the Homewood Community. We operate on the cradle to career framework helping children succeed all the way to adulthood.
HCV AmeriCorps members will be providing direct service which includes: academic support, monitoring of student progress, and maintaining contact with caregivers. In addition, members actively engage with the Homewood community through HCV and partner events, community service, and by assisting with a team service project. This service is highly interpersonal and requires that members collaborate well with others. Members must be able to accommodate changing conditions and diverse points of view. Physical demands are similar to what a teacher experiences.
Must have GED/High School Diploma
Must be 17 years of age or older
Must be able to pass background check and FBI check
